Ma. Teresa de Guzman, PhD

Dr. Maria Teresa G. de Guzman, Ph.D. holds a Doctorate in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines, complemented by Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the same institution. Dr. de Guzman has earned accolades, including recognition for excellence in Forensic Science from the University of Delhi in India. Her expertise spans interdisciplinary research, notably in Forensic Science. Serving as a speaker and convenor at international conferences, Dr. de Guzman addresses diverse topics from Forensic Science to Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

Eleanor Marie S. Lim

Eleanor Marie S. Lim, an archaeologist specializing in osteoarchaeology and stable isotope analysis, holds an MSc in Archaeology from UP Diliman and a BS in Medical Physics from De La Salle University. Her research explores past human diet, health, and disease through skeletal analysis. She led “Philippine Isoscapes,” reconstructing palaeodietary and mobility patterns. Active in UP’s Gender and Development Committee, she shares work at international conferences and in journals, advancing interdisciplinary archaeological research.

Alvaro Nagpala Calara

Alvaro Nagpala Calara

Alvaro Nagpala Calara is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Development Services, College of Human Ecology, University of the Philippines Los Baños. He holds a Master’s in Social Change and Development from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and a BS in Agriculture majoring in Agricultural Economics from UPLB. His research covers social development, environment, multicultural societies, and youth studies, with recent work on gender and sustainability dynamics with Indigenous Peoples in the Philippines.

Marcelino Macapinlac Jr

Marcelino M. Macapinlac, PhD

Marcelino M. Macapinlac, Jr. holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Santo Tomas and has served as Associate Professor at De La Salle University Manila since 2019. With extensive teaching experience at institutions including Ateneo de Manila University and St. Scholastica’s College, his expertise covers Philippine history and cultural studies. He has presented at national and international conferences, received awards for research contributions, and is active in academic groups such as the Philippine National Historical Society.

Eduardo Bersamira

Eduardo Bersamira

Eduardo D. Bersamira, a seasoned artist and illustrator, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising from the University of Santo Tomas in 1970. For over five decades, he has worked as a cartographer and illustrator for the National Census & Statistics Office and as an archaeological illustrator and scuba diver for Pacific Sea Resources Inc. and the National Museum. His expertise spans technical illustration for publications, exhibits, and archaeology. He is active in NAUI and KAPI.

Mauro Alvarez

Mauro T. Alvarez, a seasoned conservator and conservation scientist with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, brings over 40 years of expertise in preserving archaeological objects and cultural properties. He served at the National Museum’s Chemistry and Conservation Laboratory until retiring in 2021, specializing in underwater archaeology and conservation. Mauro has led workshops, conducted research, and published on conservation practices. An active member of professional organizations, he is recognized for versatility in conserving diverse cultural artifacts.

Alfonso Lumabas

Alfonso Lumabas gained experience through internships at the National Museum, focusing on inventory management and bone cleaning. As a research assistant, he contributed to a PhD dissertation by gathering qualitative data from Spanish and American period documents. Currently a junior archaeologist, he works on archaeological impact assessments involving report writing, artifact cleaning, and data gathering. He holds a BA in History and is pursuing an MA in Archaeology, with skills in archival research, editing, and Spanish.

Sarah Agatha Villaluz

Sarah Agatha A. Villaluz

Sarah Agatha A. Villaluz is a researcher with seven years’ experience in recovering, analyzing, and conserving Philippine archaeological human remains. Skilled in handling and analysis, she has also supervised field projects and conducted archival research. She has contributed to archaeological impact assessments and presented at international conferences. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Archaeology, her thesis examines physical activity from 18th-century Philippine burials. With extensive fieldwork, she has joined numerous workshops and conferences in archaeology and bioarchaeology.

Joan Tara Reyes

Joan Tara R. Reyes, an archaeologist and historian, earned her Ph.D. in History and MA in Archaeology from University of the Philippines-Diliman. She boasts significant teaching experience and a passion for unraveling Philippine history and archaeology. Through her active involvement in academic publications and conferences, she contributes to the fields of historical archaeology, Philippine cultural history, and intellectual history.

Joselito Guanzon

Jesulito P. Guanzon

Jesulito P. Guanzon has built over 15 years of hands-on experience across safety, administration, security, and technical support roles. Currently serving as Safety and Admin Officer at Interdisciplinary Research and Development, he has also worked with construction firms, manpower agencies, and research centers. With training in safety, electronics, and computer servicing, Jesulito brings practical skills, reliability, and adaptability, contributing to both workplace safety and efficient operations in varied organizational settings.
